Fredonia police and fire officials were searching for an armed robbery suspect Wednesday.


The incident happened around 1:20 p.m. downtown at 40 W. Main St. That is the location of Great Lakes Gold & Silver. One person was being treated for injuries at the time.


Police were searching for the person in the area of ​​Center Street and Forest Place. The suspect’s last known location was in the west parking lot. Dunkirk police are also expected to assist in the search.


About 15 minutes into the search, two women on Center Street told authorities they saw a person running toward Barker Street toward Canadaway Creek around 1:42 p.m. That’s where the officers went.
